The View co-host Joy Behar has said that she is “turned on” by President Joe Biden’s vulgar rants at his staffers.
Behar’s remarks come after Axios reported this week that some of Biden’s aides avoid meeting alone with him, as he is prone to yell epithets such as “God dammit, how the f*** don’t you know this?!,” “Don’t f***ing bulls*** me!” and “Get the f*** out of here!”
Behar made the comments on the show’s July 7th episode, after a report in Politico that Biden had been caught on hot mic swearing at staffers.
“I’m turned on by it,” Behar said. “I love it when he’s tough. I love it when he’s a little bit of a badass.”
“I like that. I mean, he’s such a mild-mannered sweet guy,” Behar added.
Fellow leftist co-host Whoopi Goldberg responded, “But you know he’s not. Listen, he has dropped more F-bombs than I have over the years.”
“I mean, over the years we’ve heard him off-mic say stuff. He’s a regular guy,” she continued. “I don’t know what she’s talking about. She doesn’t like this. She doesn’t like that.”
Behar said that that was Biden’s way of blowing off steam.
“He just blows off steam, his white male privilege it’s called,” Behar said. “Imagine if it’s a woman or a black guy doing that, not allowed.”
One administration official told Axios, “No one is safe.”
“There’s no question that the Biden temper is for real,” author Chris Whipple, who wrote “The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House,” confessed.
Behar’s comments were met with mixed reactions from viewers. Some praised her for her honesty, while others criticized her for being disrespectful to the president.
“I’m glad Joy Behar is finally being honest about her feelings,” one viewer wrote on Twitter. “She’s been a closet Biden fan for years.”
“This is just gross,” another viewer wrote. “Behar is supposed to be a professional journalist, not a groupie.”
