Guess What Harrison Ford Is Doing Next, It’s Going to be Marvelous

A couple of worlds are coming together and it’s going to be massive. The “Star Wars,” “Indiana Jones,” and “Marvel Comic” worlds are coming together with a new role for superstar Harrison Ford. He will be stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ford will play the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing the late William Hurt, for 2024’s ”Captain America: New World Order” starring Anthony Mackie.
This will be the fourth “Captain America” movie and it will follow the events of the 2021 Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
The show’s writer, Malcolm Spellman, wrote the screenplay with “FAWS” staff writer Dalan Musson. Julius Onah, who previously worked on “Luce” and “The Cloverfield Paradox,” is directing.
No one is sure whether Ford is also going to star in “Thunderbolts.” It is Marvel’s anti-hero movie that is scheduled to follow the fourth “Caption America.”
William Hurt played the role of Ross in the 2008 feature film, “The Incredible Hulk.” Ross is a U.S. Army general who is instrumental in transforming scientist Bruce Banner — then played by Edward Norton — into the Hulk. Most of the film is about Ross searching for Banner.
The character of Ross was also in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War” as the Secretary of State. He was tasked with enforcing the Sokovia Accords meant to curtail the actions of the Avengers.
Hurt had brief cameos in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” and his final performance as Ross was in 2021’s “Black Widow.”
For those of us who just can’t get enough, Harrison Ford’s next starring role will be the fifth “Indiana Jones” movie, set to premiere in June 2023.
Let’s hope that this great actor has a long tenure with Marvel Comics so there are many more opportunities to see him on the big screen for years to come.
