Prince Charles Becomes King and Pays Tribute to Beloved Mother

Prince Charles was confirmed as Great Britain’s new monarch, and he paid tribute to “cherished Sovereign and much-loved Mother” Queen Elizabeth II.

A statement was issued from “His Majesty The King,” and it came just half an hour after the “peaceful” passing of the Queen was announced.

Clarence House confirmed that he will be known by the regal name of King Charles III. His full name is Charles Philip Arthur George there was a chance that he could have chosen to use one of those names instead.

His statement read: “The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother.

“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.

“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”

Charles was by his mother’s side for much of the day of her death. His sister, Princess Anne was there as well, along with many family members.

The family rushed to the Queen’s Scottish residence after an unprecedented statement from her doctors indicated that there was “concern” about her health.

Charles is becoming monarch at 73 years old, he will most likely follow in his mother’s footsteps and move into Buckingham Palace.

The Palace will still be a working and entertaining hub and will also still be open to visitors. It is a hugely important tourist attraction.

The monarchy will look different under King Charles. Royal watchers have predicted a slimming down of the royal family.
