You Need to See this Clip of Robin Williams and Elmo!

Every once in a while, you just need a little bit of Robin Williams. This man is surely missed by many after his untimely death in 2014, but fortunately, there are clips like this that resurface from time to time. And it is just what the doctor ordered for today.

Robin Williams together with the fuzzy red monster Elmo has all the makings of a great conversation. The question that arises as you watch their interaction is how in the world did Kevin Clash, the puppeteer keep it together the whole time as Williams cracks joke after joke?

In the clip below, Robin Williams stopped by “Sesame Street” in 1991 for the special “Big Bird’s Birthday or Let Me Eat Cake.” He came to the show to show Elmo all of the great things that you can do with a stick.

Williams shows Elmo the wonders of creating a hockey stick and then shows how the stick can become a baton. Of course, Williams is losing his composure and walking off the set for a moment. And the entire time, Elmo stays perfectly in character looking enthralled at William’s antics.

And when Williams makes a gaffe with one of his lines, Elmo quickly slumps over. When Elmo mistakenly gets Robin’s name wrong, the puppet slinks down in his box and Williams takes his stick and leave.

If you like the clip below, go a little lower and see the interaction between Williams and the two-headed monster.

No one commanded the stage in comedy quite as Robin Williams did, and the best part of all was that no one ever really knew what was going to happen next.

The man is sorely missed, but we have such beautiful and crazy memories to remind us of the gift that he brought to the world.
