Oscar Mayer Wiener Company Shocks America – Watch

Come on, you know the song, “Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener…”
You may have loved that song, but wait until you see this new product. The 150-year-old classic food company is making some noise.
On August 25, Oscar Mayer introduced an item it is calling the “Cold Dog.” They have entered the world of frozen pops and this one is flavored like a traditional Oscar Mayer wiener.
I’ll give you a minute, you may have just thrown up in your mouth.
You can now purchase a hot dog ice pop. Get this, the company described it as the “first-of-its kind.” Yes…we can see why.
The Oscar Mayer company has joined forces with Popbar, a premium frozen desserts company that has given us such wonderful items in the past as the waffle bar and hot chocolate on a stick.
But now, they have joined forces for the Cold Dog. They say it is “refreshing and boasts the trademark smoky umami notes of Oscar Mayer’s iconic wiener and is topped with a signature squiggle of ‘mustard.’”
I find this interesting, Oscar Mayer said that it knows a cold hot dog “may be polarizing,” which is why this innovation into salty-sweet is part of its “Stupid or Genius” campaign. They will be focusing on “all the wonderfully odd ways to enjoy the iconic wiener beyond grilling.”
You can imagine what kind of debate this has created on social media.

“I’ve been queasy all day and this is what put me over the edge. Thanks,” said on the tweet.
“Thats a really bad idea. Its sucks. no pun intended,” another wrote.
Somebody on Instagram just said, “No maaaaaam.”

“I WOULD SAY STUPID BUT THIS IS AMERICA BABY GO FOR IT,” asserted one Instagram commenter.
But yet, one person posted, “Genius! Used to eat them with my grade school friends in the summer while riding bikes and raiding each other’s freezers.”
And another, “When I was a kid I used to love eating cold hot dogs right out of the fridge. So I don’t really see a problem with this.”
