Madonna Releases Statement After Being Revived by Narcan – Watch

Madonna has released a statement after reports that she was revived with Narcan after being found unresponsive at her New York City home.

Madonna thanked fans on Instagram for their “positive energy, [p]rayers and words of healing and encouragement,” saying that she felt their “love.”

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” she said. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

She said that her focus was now on getting better so she could get back out on tour.

“The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe,” she said. “I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support.”

the pop icon was found unresponsive late last month and was rushed to the hospital, suffering from what her longtime manager Guy O’Seary described as a “serious bacterial infection.”

Narcan is most commonly used to treat narcotics overdoses, in Madonna’s case, it was believed to have been used for an entirely different reason: to reverse septic shock as a result of severe infection.
