Dr. Phil Discusses Experience In Chicago

Dr. Phil has never been one to shy away from tough conversations, and his latest venture—embedding with ICE agents on an immigration enforcement operation—proves he’s willing to see the truth for himself. The renowned talk show host witnessed firsthand what these agents are really doing, and he’s now pushing back against the media hysteria and celebrity meltdowns, including a teary, now-deleted Instagram post from actress and singer Selena Gomez.

Gomez, 32, posted a video sobbing about immigration raids, claiming, “All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand.” But Dr. Phil, after riding along with ICE in Chicago, isn’t convinced she understands the situation at all.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he stated, “She seemed to me to be very sincere in her empathy for these individuals, but I’m not sure who she was identifying with… I don’t think she would relate to the people that were taken down in this operation.”

And who were those people? According to Dr. Phil, ICE’s targets weren’t families being separated or innocent workers being rounded up. Instead, these were hardened criminals—individuals with charges like murder, child rape, and aggravated assault. At a 4:00 AM briefing, he stood alongside agents as they reviewed their objectives, making it clear that this was a tactical operation focused on dangerous offenders.

Dr. Phil’s deep dive into the operation reveals that ICE is not conducting random sweeps, despite what the mainstream media might claim. He asked tough questions: Are they targeting farms? Are they raiding schools? Are they conducting indiscriminate community sweeps? The answer, time and time again, was no.

Instead, he witnessed ICE agents arresting individuals like a convicted child sex offender from Thailand, a man who, if left unchecked, would continue to be a threat to the community. Dr. Phil didn’t mince words: “It was very clear that this individual is a danger to the community. I don’t think anyone would argue that it’s a better community with him in it.”

So why the outrage from Gomez and other activists? Dr. Phil suggests much of it is fueled by misinformation and media-driven fear-mongering. He noted that even Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has spread false claims that ICE is pulling kids out of schools. Meanwhile, the real issue is that sanctuary cities refuse to cooperate with federal authorities, forcing ICE to conduct field arrests rather than picking up criminals directly from jails.

According to Dr. Phil, cities that refuse to work with ICE are making their own communities less safe. Instead of handing over violent offenders when they’re already in custody, they release them onto the streets, leaving ICE no choice but to track them down later. “If they will just give a heads up to ICE officials when they have these [dangerous criminals] in custody, then ICE could take them from the jail or as they’re leaving the jail, which will keep the ICE agents out of the community.”

It’s a simple solution. But Democratic leaders in these sanctuary cities continue to protect illegal immigrant criminals at the expense of law-abiding citizens. Dr. Phil drove the point home with a brutal reality check: “When I saw these people being arrested, I thought, ‘Should we call the mayor and ask do you want them back? You want to turn them loose?’ And of course, the answer would be no.”
