Jana Kramer Discusses Ad Did To Pay Bills

Country artist Jana Kramer acknowledged regrets about past career decisions, but explained they were driven by financial necessity as the sole provider for her children.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Kramer referenced certain advertisements she now wishes she had declined, saying candidly, “Sometimes when you gotta pay that child support check… this is a good check money. I’m gonna take this.”

The comment came during a light-hearted exchange with fellow country star Jessie James Decker, promoting their new single, Do It in Heels.

When Decker jokingly brought up a specific ad involving a “vibrator,” both laughed. Kramer clarified that while she wouldn’t take a similar offer now, she had made the decision at the time to meet her financial obligations.

Kramer has two children with ex-husband Mike Caussin, for whom she pays child support, and a one-year-old son with current husband Allan Russell. She noted the “pressure on my shoulders” as a single provider has at times outweighed what she called her “moral compass.”

While addressing her current career and family balance, Kramer emphasized she has set personal boundaries, adding, “We could be on OnlyFans, but we’re not.” The remark underscored her point: while certain choices were made for financial survival, there are limits she has chosen not to cross.

Do It in Heels, described by Kramer as a “fun, up-tempo girl anthem,” marks the first musical collaboration between the two singers. Kramer said she envisioned Decker on the track from the beginning, though she hesitated to ask. Decker responded enthusiastically: “It was great, it was catchy. I loved everything about it.”

Their friendship, now years in the making, began with industry rumors of rivalry but grew into mutual support. Both admitted they initially felt insecure around each other, assuming competition. That changed after a frank conversation cleared the air.

Decker praised Kramer’s resilience, calling her “unbelievably strong” in the face of past trauma. Kramer, reflecting on her journey through failed marriages and new beginnings, said she’s learned to value herself and surround herself with respect. “It’s always been my work along the way,” she said.
