Costner Misses Golden Globes But Wins, Take a Look Why

Kevin Costner missed the Golden Globes because he was living in real life an episode right out of “Yellowstone.”

The megastar ended up winning the award for best actor in a drama series but shared that he was unable to be present at the January 10 awards show in person.

Costner revealed that he and his family had been affected by California’s floods that week and because the roads were flooded in Santa Barbara, they were not able to travel to Beverly Hills.

“I’m so sorry for everyone who might’ve been tuning in to watch the Golden Globes. Chris (Christine Baumgartner, his wife) and I aren’t gonna be able to be there. This is the second time in five years the town, the freeways flooded out. We found ourselves on the wrong side of the town and we couldn’t get back last night. We couldn’t even get back to the house this morning in time with the freeways closed,” the 67-year-old father of seven explained.

Costner said that he was sad that his family could not be there at the Golden Globes and that his wife had a beautiful dress picked out. He said he was looking forward to walking down the red carpet with her. And he also said that he was “psyched” to share the night with his “Yellowstone” co-stars and colleagues.

The iconic actor apologized to his fans and then revealed his plans for the night.

“I know how bad Chris wanted to support me, and she went out and bought me some gold and yellow and black and silver balloons. So we’re gonna sit (in front of the) television and see what happens,” he said.

He ended the message by saying that he hoped that he and his family would be “invited back” to the Golden Globes another year.

Costner won a Globe in 2013 for best actor in a limited series with his role “Hatfields & McCoys.” And he won in 1991, for best director in a motion picture for “Dances with Wolves.”
