Britney Spears’ Manager Lashes Out at Mocking SNL Skit!

In a recent Saturday Night Live (SNL) skit, comedian Chloe Fineman portrayed Britney Spears, satirizing the singer’s new memoir, “Woman In Me.” The skit featured cast members auditioning for the role of the voice narrator for Spears’ audiobook, with each delivering lines from the singer’s most personal experiences as detailed in her book. One specific segment, where cast member Heidi Gardner mocked Spears recounting her 2007 public breakdown and head-shaving incident, drew criticism.

Britney Spears’ longtime manager, Cade Hudson, expressed his disapproval of the SNL sketch on Instagram, stating that the show’s writers are “getting worse and worse.” Hudson went on to describe SNL as being on “life support” and criticized the comedic skills of Chloe Fineman, suggesting that her casting might have been questionable.

“Woman In Me,” released on October 24, emerged as an immediate best-seller, surpassing a million copies in its first week in the US. The memoir provides an intimate look into Spears’ life, covering topics such as her romantic relationships, mental health struggles, conservatorship, and her recent liberation. The accompanying audiobook, narrated by Michelle Williams, gained attention, particularly a viral clip featuring Williams impersonating Justin Timberlake.

Britney Spears had preemptively announced that she would not narrate her own story, opting to read only the introduction. The memoir revealed personal aspects of the singer’s life, including an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake and insights into her terminated conservatorship. The legal arrangement, initiated in 2008, came to an end in November 2021, with Spears’ father, James (Jamie), relinquishing control over her career, finances, and personal life.

The SNL skit, criticized by Spears’ manager, adds another layer to the ongoing conversation surrounding the pop icon’s life and the public’s interest in her journey, as detailed in her memoir.
