Wheel of Fortune Contestant Challenges Sajak and Wins Social Media Fans

A recent “Wheel of Fortune” contestant lost the bonus round puzzle, but he won the hearts of tons of viewers.

On a recent episode, Ben Tucker, from California, stared at the big letterboard as the clock ran down. He tried his best to figure out the puzzle even though he only had five letters and a category to go on.

Tucker couldn’t figure it out in time, so long-time host, Pat Sajak, revealed the answer. The contestant wasn’t too happy with the rationale.

You see, the category given as a clue to Tucker was “Fun & Games.” The puzzle that he couldn’t get was “taking a quick jog.”

When the answer was revealed, Tucker immediately said to Sajak, “Well, see, I don’t consider jogging fun and games.”

Sajak could only respond, “Oh, well there you go,” as Tucker gave the live audience a thumbs-up and they gave him applause.

Sajak may have seen this coming because, at the beginning of the episode, he teased Tucker saying, “You’re going to be trouble, aren’t you?”

The folks on social media agreed with Tucker’s appraisal of the category and puzzle answer.

“Finally! A contestant finally speaks out about the answers not matching the category!” one fan wrote.

Another wrote, “Nobody considers that fun and games that’s fitness, come on.”

“He’s right — jogging is neither fun, nor a game,” yet another viewer added. “Give him his cash.”

That line of thinking was repeated over and over again in the comments that followed a posting of the exchange. And the ironic part of this is that the caption from the show’s posting of the clip seems to agree with Tucker.

It read, that Tucker “has a point.”

I wonder if this story has legs and if the continued uproar will make a difference for the contestant.
