Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, on Cloud Nine as a Grandmother

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, is once again joining the ranks of proud grandparents. The duchess could not contain her joy and excitement after hearing that her daughter, Princess Eugenie, announced that she is expecting her second child.

Ferguson, 63, shared a beautiful photo of her grandson and Eugenia’s almost two-year-old son August all playing outdoors.

She wrote in the tweet how excited she was that “Augie” would soon have someone to play with.

“You will be sharing puddles, Augie!” she captioned her Jan. 24 Instagram post. “Superb news, Granny heaven…. So deeply grateful.”

It was earlier in the same day as Ferguson’s post that Eugenie announced that she and her husband Jack Brooksbank are expecting their second child together.

“We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,” she wrote. And she added a photo of her son hugging her and her baby bump.

Ferguson commented on her daughter’s post, writing, “Granny heaven.”

Buckingham Palace released a statement about Eugenie’s pregnancy as well: “Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer. The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother.”

The Duchess of York shares daughters Eugenie and Beatrice with ex-husband Prince Andrew, Duke of York. This will be Ferguson’s third grandchild.

Eugenie and Brooksbank were married in 2018, and two years later they announced that they were expecting their first child. Augie was born in February 2021.

Then in September, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi had their first child, a daughter named Sienna Elizabeth.

Beatrice is also a stepmother to Mozzi’s son Christopher Woolf from a previous relationship.

This new baby from Eugenie will be the 13th in the line of succession to the British throne.
