Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Want to ‘Erase’ Liam Hemsworth – Watch

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples, but their marriage came to an end in 2019 after just eight months. In the years since, Cyrus has spoken openly about her past with Hemsworth, both the good and the bad.

Cyrus recently spoke about her new single, “Flowers,” which she says is about her past with Hemsworth. “It’s about a relationship that didn’t work out,” she said. “But it’s also about forgiveness and moving on.”

Regarding their breakup, Cyrus told the British publication, “I wouldn’t erase my story or want it to be erased.”

She continued, “Having an interesting life makes for interesting storytelling.”

Hemsworth and Cyrus met in 2009 when they filmed their romantic comedy “The Last Song.” Cyrus was just 17 at the time and the Australia native was 19. Their teenage romance turned into an on-again-off-again relationship that lasted for about 10 years.

In a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone, Cyrus reflected on their relationship, saying that they were “two very young people who fell in love very quickly.” She also admitted that she was “not ready to be a wife” when they got married.

In the same year on Joe Rogan’s podcast, the former Disney star said, “What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realized that we don’t love each other the way that we used to anymore. That’s OK, I can accept that,” she said at the time. “I can’t accept the villainizing and just all those stories.”

Cyrus has also been candid about the challenges of her marriage, including the devastating wildfires that destroyed their Malibu home in 2018. “In a way, it did what I couldn’t do for myself,” she said of the fire. “It removed me from what no longer was serving its purpose.”

Despite the challenges, Cyrus says that she still loves Hemsworth and that she will always cherish their time together. “I love Liam and always will,” she said. “He’s a wonderful person and I will always be grateful for our time together.”
