Bronny James, the 18-year-old son of NBA superstar LeBron James, suffered a cardiac arrest during a basketball workout on Monday. James was rushed to the hospital and is now in stable condition.
According to TMZ Sports, James collapsed on the court during a workout with his college team, the USC Trojans. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a cardiac arrest.
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital,” the James family spokesperson said. “He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”
“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” the spokesperson added.
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who collapsed on the field after suffering a cardiac arrest during a game in January, tweeted Tuesday that he is praying for the James family.
“Prayers to Bronny & The James family as well. 🙏🏽 here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process,” Hamlin wrote.
