Jury’s In on Starbucks New Cake Pop…What Do You Think – Watch

Starbucks has released a new cake pop that it says is shaped like a bumblebee. However, the internet is not convinced. Many people are saying that the cake pop looks nothing like a bumble bee and maybe it looks even like a tiger.

The cake pop is made with yellow cake and white chocolate frosting. It has black stripes and black antennae. Starbucks says that the cake pop is inspired by the bees that pollinate coffee plants.

However, many people on social media are saying that the cake pop does not look like a bee at all. Some people are even saying that it looks like a piece of poop.

The internet was filled with other ideas:

“I’ve been saying they could maybe market it as a tiger but absolutely not like a bumblebee,” wrote one Redditor, to which another replied, “I totally agree. It definitely looks like a terrified tiger.”

“I really thought it was Pikachu at first glance,” wrote another Redditor, not the only one to make that assessment.

“(It) looks like Tina Belcher to me,” wrote another Reddit user, referring to the popular “Bob’s Burgers” character. “It’s the Tina of cake pops!” said someone else.

“New cake pop feels like,” wrote one Redditor with the “Polite Cat” meme.

And maybe the best post of all: “More important, why is not honey flavored?” asked the Reddit user, garnering a fair share of epiphany-laden agreements in the comments. “BEES MAKE HONEY. IT’S WHY WE LIKE THESE FUZZY INSECTS.”

Starbucks has not responded to the criticism. However, the company is still selling the cake pop. It is available for a limited time at participating Starbucks stores.

Here are some more reactions from the internet:

  • “That’s not a bumblebee, it’s a wasp.”
  • “That cake pop looks like a piece of poop.”
  • “I’m not eating that, it looks like it will sting me.”
  • “Starbucks, what were you thinking?”
  • “This is the worst cake pop I’ve ever seen.”

What do you think? Does the Starbucks cake pop look like a bumblebee? Or does it look like something else?
