Julia Roberts and George Clooney Discuss Their ‘Dating Policy’ – Watch

They are two of the brightest stars ever to hit the movie screen, and they are back together again in the new romantic comedy, “Ticket to Paradise.”

George Clooney and Julia Roberts came together in a movie for the first time 20 years ago in “Ocean’s Eleven.” Recently they sat down together for an interview and revealed why they always chose to keep their off-screen relationship completely platonic.

Both of the stars have been married to their present partners, Amal Clooney and Danny Moder, for many years. But that wasn’t true decades prior when they first met. Kit Hoover from Access Hollywood asked them if they ever decided on a no-dating policy.

“To not date each other?” Roberts asked, adding with a laugh, “I don’t think we needed to state it.”

Clooney said, “Julia was always in a relationship, or I was in a relationship,” Clooney noted. “We were fast friends right away. It’s been nothing but fun for us, so I don’t think that was ever really a thing.”

Roberts, who is known as Auntie JuJu to Clooney’s 5-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, made it clear that even the thought of romance with her pal is a big turnoff.

In fact, when Clooney jokingly said that maybe they should “take this to a different level,” Roberts gagged at the mention of it.

“Well, you don’t have to react that bad!” he shot back.

This is the kind of exchange they had when they were on the “TODAY” show a few days ago.

Roberts let out that she found kissing Clooney for this last film “kind of ridiculous.” Clooney kept a deadpan look on his face and said, “Well, thanks for that. You know I was a two-time ‘Sexiest Man Alive’?”

So it looks like we will just have to enjoy the chemistry between these two stars just on the screen.
