It’s Halloween! Fallon Adds some Laughter to Your Horror

What could be better for a Halloween article that combines horror with a little fun and laughter? It is amazing how many people love to be scared out of their wits. The horror genre is more popular now than it has ever been in our culture. And we have a long history of Hollywood filling that need with films that make us squirm.

Some have even studied this dynamic in culture and found that watching a scary movie can act as a form of exposure therapy, which reduces anxiety levels. It seems that sometimes it’s just more cathartic to see an actual monster creating havoc in a fictional world than it is to deal with the real-world monsters that haunt our minds.

How cathartic might it be if we can mix horror with comedy? A scare and a laugh might be just what the doctor ordered.

Well, thank you, Jimmy Fallon!

He asked his listeners to “take a horror movie and add one word to change the plot and tag it with #AddAWordRuinAHorrorMovie for his ever-popular Hashtags segment on “The Tonight Show.”

People responded with some really great twists on popular movies.
