Here’s a Look at Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump’s ‘Former’ Friendship

They made strange bedfellows…the friendship between Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump is a mind-twister.

Chelsea Clinton recently shared some insights into this relationship and where the two women stand today.

Chelsea, along with her mother, Hillary, recently appeared on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” Chelsea talked about the past with former President Donald Trump’s daughter, and said that Ivanka has gone “to the dark side.” Chelsea said that she hasn’t spoken to Ivanka since November 2016.

When Cohen asked Chelsea to describe her current relationship with Ivanka, she said, “We were friends.”

“She is not the person I called when I was curious about something for my kids or if I was debating a life decision,” she continued. “But we were definitely friends … and then she went to the dark side.”

The former first daughter previously told “TODAY” in 2016 that she and Ivanka had “very different views” about who should be president, but remained friends. In that year, both of the women were very involved in their parent’s presidential campaigns.

And during a 2020 appearance on a Bravo show, Chelsea said that she no longer wanted to be associated with Ivanka Trump. At that time, she was the first daughter and a senior advisor in Trump’s administration.

“I have no interest in being friends with someone who is not only complicit, but actively taking part in this administration’s everyday collision of cruelty and incompetence,” she told Cohen.

After Chelsea was in the White House, she was followed by first daughters Jenna and Barbara Bush.

In 2020, Jenna said that there was a sisterhood with Chelsea and the other daughters of presidents.

“There is a sisterhood because it’s so few of us that we know what it’s like and the beauty of it and living history and also some of the difficulties,” Jenna said.

I guess that’s not true anymore.
