Food Crisis Alert: Popular Chicken Nugget Brand Recalls 30K Pounds!

Tyson Foods has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 30,000 pounds of its dino-shaped chicken nuggets after reports of small metal pieces being found in the product. The recall was announced on a Saturday and applies to specific packaging of frozen, fully cooked “fun nuggets breaded shaped chicken patties.”

The affected products come in 29-ounce plastic bag packages with a “best if used by date” of September 4, 2024. These items were distributed and sold in the states of Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

While the recall was initiated following one reported incident of minor oral injury associated with the consumption of the nuggets, no additional harm reports have been received concerning the product.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service expressed concerns that consumers might still have the recalled nuggets stored in their freezers. As a precautionary measure, they recommend that individuals who possess these products either dispose of them or return them immediately.

Tyson Foods has provided specific guidance for purchasers and consumers of the recalled nuggets. They are advised to cut out the UPC and date code from the packaging and reach out to Tyson Foods at 1-855-382-3101 for further assistance.

At the time of this report, Tyson Foods had not responded to requests for comment from CNN. Tyson Foods, headquartered in Arkansas, stands as one of the world’s largest meat processors, ranking as the second-largest globally.

Consumers who may have purchased these specific Tyson chicken nuggets are encouraged to check their freezer storage and take appropriate action to ensure their safety and that of their family members. The recall is a precautionary measure to address the potential presence of foreign material in the product and to prevent any further incidents of injury or harm.
