Celine Dion Has to Cancel Tour Due to Neurological Disorder – Watch

Celine Dion has canceled all upcoming tour dates amid her ongoing health battle with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS). The 55-year-old singer made an announcement on her social media and her website on May 26, 2023.

“It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour,” a post on her Instagram was captioned. “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100 percent. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.”

SPS is a rare, chronic neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and spasms. It is caused by an overactive immune system that attacks the nerves that control muscle movement. There is no cure for SPS, but there are treatments that can help to manage the symptoms.

Dion was diagnosed with SPS in 2020. She was forced to cancel her Las Vegas residency in 2021 due to her health. She had been hoping to resume the tour in 2022, but her condition has not improved enough.

In her statement, Dion said that she is “not giving up” on her health. She said that she is “working really hard” to get better and that she “can’t wait to see you again.”

Dion’s fans have been very supportive of her during her health battle. Many have taken to social media to express their disappointment at the tour cancellation, but they have also expressed their love and support for Dion.

“I’m so sorry to hear about Celine’s health,” one fan wrote. “She’s such an amazing singer and I hope she gets better soon.”

“I’m heartbroken that Celine has to cancel her tour,” another fan wrote. “She’s one of my favorite singers and I was so looking forward to seeing her live. But I know she’s doing what’s best for her health and I wish her all the best.”

Dion has not yet announced when she plans to resume her tour. However, she said in her statement that she will “keep you updated on my progress.”
