Is Dolly Parton selling CBD gummies now? That was circulating the rumor mill lately and wait until you hear how the country music icon responded to it.
Dolly addressed the claims on her official social media accounts on Wednesday. She denied the gossip with what we all love about her, some simple country wit.
“Dolly Parton is not affiliated with, has not endorsed, and is not associated with any keto or CBD gummy product. She’s more the cake, cookie, and cornbread type,” the post said. It was signed, “Team Dolly.”
The Snopes website had previously addressed the rumor saying that it was false and that Parton never endorsed the products. People had been reacting to Facebook ads that used the country music icon’s image to sell CBD gummies that they said would “reverse dementia.”
The ad included a photo of Dolly with the headline: “Allegation(s) Against Dolly Parton Have Been Confirmed.”
Not only did Snopes confirm that the ad was false, but they also noted that the accompanying link revealed no allegations or proof after clicking on the ad.
Dolly’s fans circled the legend with comments like,
“I’ll get the pitchforks,” and, “You let me know where to meet you.”
“Dolly is such a class act,” another person wrote. “(And also WHO had the nerve?!)”
Some found some real humor in Parton’s reaction to the whole scene noting that she’s never involved in scandals and everybody just loves the star.
“This is the most drama Dolly ever will get involved with,” one follower observed.
One fan had an interesting comment, stating that maybe Dolly ought to make the rumors true.
“Okay but imagine Dolly CBD products….. we would go crazy over that,” someone else said.
So, to be clear, Dolly is not selling CBD gummies, but she did just sign a deal with Duncan Hines for a special line of cake mixes inspired by southern recipes. It will also include some new frosting flavors. This all sold out just after they debuted.
