Rumors are circulating about mega-star Kevin Costner and his future on the massive hit “Yellowstone.” The show’s stars Piper Perabo and Lainey Wilson shared their thoughts on reports that the series could come to an end after season 5 because of Costner’s departure.
Perabo and Wilson talked after the Billboard Women in Music awards gala on Wednesday. They spoke about the show’s “drama” and admitted they did not know much about the status of the 68-year-old star, according to Fox News.
“I mean, there’s always a lot of drama when it comes to ‘Yellowstone,’” Perabo said. “Don’t believe everything you hear.”
“He’s [Costner] such a movie star, and it’s so inspiring to be around an actor like that,” she added.
Perabo was pressed further and she said that Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the hit series, “knows to play it really close to the vest, and I know better than to speak outside the ranch, but I’m excited to see what happens next.”
Wilson is also a country singer and she has never actually worked with Costner. She said, “from everything I’ve heard about the man, he’s just as kind as he is talented.”
“You know what, I don’t know much, but I have a feeling they’re going to end it the right way, and there’s gonna be more of it,” she added. “And I’m hoping I’m gonna be back in it!”
Marty Singer, Costner’s attorney, has denied reports that Costner is leaving the show, calling the “ridiculous.”
“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ is an absolute lie,” Singer shared previously. “It’s ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
Paramount Network also dismissed the rumors about Costner, saying, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone,’ and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.”
