Police Share Update In Murder Investigation

The Austin Police Department has released new details on the tragic murder of InfoWars reporter Jamie White, who was shot and killed outside his apartment complex shortly after leaving work late Saturday night.

According to police, officers responded to a call about a shooting in South Austin at 11:56 p.m. local time. When they arrived, they found White, 36, lying on the ground with apparent trauma to his body. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead just 18 minutes after arrival.

Detectives now believe White interrupted a burglary in progress. Police say the suspects were possibly breaking into White’s vehicle when he confronted them, leading to the fatal shooting. The suspects fled the scene, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Crime records for White’s apartment complex paint a disturbing picture. In 2024 alone, the area saw 57 reported crimes, including vehicle thefts, aggravated assaults, and burglaries.

White’s friend, Yecca Aaron, described him as a dedicated journalist and a hard worker.

“His work was his life. He loved going to work, he never slacked off at work, his articles were very well written. That was what he was meant to do, was to write articles,” Aaron said.

She does not believe White was targeted for his reporting, saying it was a random act of violence in a city struggling with rising crime.

“I think he was just targeted because he was right there in the right place at the wrong time.”

White’s employer, InfoWars, issued a statement blasting Austin’s left-wing leadership, specifically its progressive district attorney, for failing to keep the city safe.

“We pledge that Jamie’s tragic death will not be in vain, and those responsible for this senseless violence will be brought to justice,” InfoWars stated. “Jamie’s important work will be carried on through InfoWars, our readers, and our cherished listeners.”
