The Department of Homeland Security is cracking down—hard—on the individuals responsible for leaking sensitive information about ICE operations.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed Wednesday that multiple leakers within DHS have been identified, and they will face criminal prosecution. The message is clear: undermining law enforcement efforts will not be tolerated.
The leaks, which tipped off criminals targeted for deportation, put ICE agents in direct danger and forced the cancellation of critical operations. Noem, speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity, made it clear that these individuals would be held accountable.
“When I’m able to reveal that with the evidence, I’m going to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, and I’m going to make an example out of them,” she stated. “These leakers, boy, they better watch out.”
Noem’s frustration is justified. Just last month, an ICE raid planned for Los Angeles was compromised after the Los Angeles Times published key details of the operation, effectively warning the criminals ICE was after. That leak alone forced authorities to call off the raid, highlighting the dangerous consequences of such betrayals.
Border Czar Tom Homan, furious over the leak, confirmed that the Department of Justice is actively investigating and is prepared to prosecute those responsible. “They have promised that not only will this person lose their job and lose their pension, they’re going to go to jail,” Homan stated. Reports suggest that a rogue FBI agent may have played a role in the leak, further fueling concerns about internal sabotage.
The stakes are extraordinarily high. The Biden administration’s failure to control the border resulted in an estimated 10 million illegal crossings. Now, under new leadership, DHS is ramping up deportations, removing more than 30,000 illegal immigrants per month—yet even that is just a fraction of what’s needed. Noem made it clear that every effort must be taken to remove violent criminals before more lives are lost.
“We might have another Laken Riley tomorrow and wish we would have pushed harder and wish we would have done more,” Noem said, referencing the tragic murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley, a college student killed by an illegal alien.
That’s what makes these leaks so dangerous. ICE isn’t targeting families or low-level offenders—it’s going after criminals, the kind of individuals who should never have been in the country in the first place. By warning them in advance, these leakers aren’t just obstructing justice; they’re endangering lives.
