Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Sparkling Big Money Deal Has Fizzled

When they arrived in Hollywood, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were to toast of the town. But could they be wearing out their welcome?

There are rumors floating around that the ex-royal couple’s multi-million dollar deal with Netflix may be coming to an end.

The reports about the couple’s connection with the powerful streaming company are mixed. Some British tabloids are claiming that the deal is on the rocks because executives are becoming impatient with the Sussexes.

There are other reports that maintain the couple is in the midst of production and the docuseries will be an intimate look into their lives. The hope is that it will debut at the same time as season five of “The Crown” in November.

The issue is that Netflix is a completely different company than it was when they signed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. There has been a huge number of people who have ended their subscriptions, so now the once powerful company is issuing hundreds of pink slips. There are a number of development projects that have been cut and executives are promising to cut even more spending.

Breitbart News reported that one of Sussex’s projects was already a victim of tightening spending. “Pearl” was the working title of an animated series that was created by Markle through Archewell Productions. That is the company that Markle and Prince Harry set up with Netflix last year.

Two British tabloids, The Daily Express and The Daily Star have run stories claiming that “the clock is ticking” on the couple’s Netflix deal.

But Page Six just ran a story saying that Netflix is still on target to stream the couple’s docuseries by the end of the year.

“There is a lot to organize and a lot of things at play here. Netflix wants to make sure they get in there and don’t get scooped” by Harry’s memoir, which is also due in the fall.
