Former Harvard Law Professor and veteran defense attorney Alan Dershowitz revealed during a recent interview on Fox News Sunday that sealed federal records tied to the Jeffrey Epstein case include the names of at least two prominent Democratic officials. Speaking with host Shannon Bream, Dershowitz clarified that while no formal “Epstein client list” exists in the way it’s often portrayed online, there are judicial documents and FBI interviews that implicate high-level figures.
“There are sealed records by two or three federal judges in the New York courts,” Dershowitz said. “I’ve seen some of these materials.” He referred specifically to FBI reports containing redacted interviews with alleged Epstein victims.
“At least one of the victims names very important people,” Dershowitz added, noting he had reviewed unredacted versions during his own legal work.
Dershowitz went on to name former Democratic Senator George Mitchell of Maine and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as two individuals mentioned in sealed documents.
He also referenced former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak as having been implicated. However, he emphasized that no convictions or verified allegations had emerged against these individuals. “Whether any of these people actually did anything wrong, we don’t know,” he said. “There have been many false accusations.”
The attorney, who previously represented Epstein during his 2008 plea deal, has himself been accused of wrongdoing by the late Virginia Giuffre—an allegation he has consistently denied. Giuffre later dropped her defamation case against Dershowitz and acknowledged she may have made an error in naming him.
Dershowitz also mentioned Sarah Ransome, another accuser in the Epstein orbit, who filed an affidavit naming numerous high-profile figures—including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Richard Branson—as alleged participants in Epstein’s crimes. She later admitted the claims were fabricated and that she possessed no tapes or evidence, but the affidavit remains part of the public court record.
“It’s essential to distinguish between true and false accusations,” Dershowitz told Fox News, underscoring that no formal charges have been brought against the Democrats named in the sealed files. “The mere presence of a name in a sealed court document does not equate to guilt.”
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue the release of all grand jury transcripts related to the Epstein investigation. Bondi has also been instructed to release any credible, unreleased material that may shed light on the full extent of Epstein’s criminal network.
