They are two of the most loved actors in the world, Brendan Fraser and Adam Sandler. And both of them sat down for an interview, with each other. You know that this is going to be good.
This took place during one of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” segments, and both legends shared stories of being in the entertainment business. They started with “Airhead,” which they both were in, and moved on to movies like Sandler’s “Hustle” and Fraser’s “The Whale.”
These men both respect each other and like each other’s work. Sandler couldn’t say enough about Fraser’s decisions to make bold and interesting choices, and especially commended him for his starring role in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale.” This move is being talked about as a major comeback for Fraser.
And Fraser praised an often ignored layer of nuance in Sandler’s roles, saying, “He doesn’t play underdogs, he plays champions that are overlooked.”
But the best part about this mutual “interview” is that we get to see a couple of really good guys that really enjoy one another’s company. They bond over things like surgeries, and they make playful jabs at each other, like when Fraser pokes at Sandler’s beard. It’s all so surprisingly wholesome.
“Finally an interview using a language we can all fully appreciate and understand, the language of true friendship,” commented one person.
